This engaging book brings together the author's expertise in Biblical studies and his extensive experience in leading tours around the Holy Land. Following the chronological sequence of the key events in Luke's gospel, the book comprises previous and later history of the sites where these events occurred, geographical and archaeological descriptions, maps of the relevant areas, a description of the sites today and full colour photography throughout. Suitable for the traveller and the 'armchair pilgrim' alike, In the Steps of Jesus offers vivid insights into Jesus' life and travels.

Dr Peter Walker studied Classics and Early Church History at Cambridge University and has done extensive research at post-doctoral level on attitudes to Jerusalem in the time of both the Bible and the Early Church. For many years he taught New Testament Studies at Wycliffe Hall within the University of Oxford and was for five years Professor of Biblical Studies at Trinity School for Ministry, near Pittsburgh in the United States. He has authored a dozen books and written numerous articles on Jesus, the New Testament and the Holy Land today, as well as on issues in the Anglican Communion. Peter is an ordained clergyman in the Church of England and has led guided tours to the lands of the Bible for over 30 years. He and his wife, Georgie, now live back in the UK and have two married children.
