Jill Francis Hudson

Jill Hudson read Classics and Theology at Newnham College, Cambridge, graduating with a 'starred first'. She has been an avid reader and writer from early childhood, and has been writing (but not always finishing) historical novels since being a teenager. She particularly enjoys bringing characters from the Old Testament to life, and her first published novel, Rabshakeh, was short-listed for the Deo Gloria prize. She loves researching almost as much as writing, and has travelled widely in Israel and the Middle East.

As well as writing, Jill also tutors part time in Latin and Religious Studies and does voluntary conservation work with Natural England. She lives in Cumbria on the fringe of the Lake District with her husband Keith; together they run a worship band, walk, ski, climb, cycle and canoe.
