Our Best Children’s Picture Books about Mental Health

11 February 2021

Now more than ever we need to help children understand their emotional and mental health. Picture books that explore children’s mental health can be so important to opening a dialogue with children about how they are feeling. As adults, we sometimes forget that young children experience the same feelings we do. The only difference is children might find it difficult to express those emotions with words. They might not even have the vocabulary to do so yet. Children’s Books that discuss children’s emotions provide children with the language to express themselves, to validate their emotions, and encourage an appropriate response to those emotions.

We publish wonderful picture books that discuss a wide range of emotions children might be feeling and difficult situations they may be experiencing. We also have picture books that can start important conversations about Bible stories and questions children might have about the world around them.

We hope these books will spark important conversations and help children learn how to understand their mental health and express their emotions.
