Ms Margaret Bateson-Hill

Margaret was born and grew up in Blackpool. At University she studied Drama and English, going on to run drama workshops for children. She now lives in Brixton, S London – one of the cross roads of the world where many cultures and people meet. Margaret has published Lao Lao of Dragon Mountain, Mash and the Firebird (which won the English Association’s Best Illustrated Picture Book in 1999 Shota and the Starquilt (winner of the USA’s National Parenting Publishing Awards’ gold award) and Chanda and the Mirror of Moonlight which was also illustrated by Karin Littlewood and was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway medal.
